Many religious paths
mistake Paganism as a devil worshiping cult. This is simply not
the case. Someone who refers to themselves as a Pagan is simply
stating that he/she is not of the traditional Christian, Jewish
or Islamic belief systems. The term Pagan comes from the Latin
word paganus which translate to mean country dweller.
Beginning thousands of
years prior to the inception of the single Judeo Christian God,
belief systems were filled with multiple gods/goddesses. Upon
the coming of the "God" belief, believers in faiths such as the
Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Asians etc etc were now called Pagan
Heathens. Anyone or group of people who dare to refute the
existence of "God" were either tortured to submission or
murdered if they refused to convert.
